Pantone Honey Yellow

A warmer, more subdued Honey Yellow carries the 2009 color of the year, Pantone 14-0848 Mimosa, through to fall and winter with its golden tones.  Pairing Honey Yellow with its color wheel opposite, Purple Heart, will surely add a surprising flair.  Or, for a more typical fall combination, group Honey Yellow with Burnt Sienna and Iron.  Pantone Fashion Color Report Fall 2009

05-honey-yellow02-purple-heartWhat’s your take on the Honey Yellow and Purple Heart combo?  I can’t help but think back to college days and fraternity colors, but that’s just me.  This does conjure images of blazers and slacks in a nice wool blend for those chilly Saturday afternoons on the fifty yard line.

05-honey-yellow07-burnt-sienna01-ironAhh, this combo is so autumnal surely you can hear the crackling embers of the bonfire while you take in the intoxicating autumn scents of hot apple cider with cinnamon sticks and that one last weenie roast.  Even the names alone bring to mind a traditional fall evening of warmth spent with friends and family:  Honey Yellow, Burnt Sienna, Iron.
